www.firstgiving.com/asa-albany/9th-annual-walk--5k-run-for-autismThe Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region, New York is a not-for-profit organization that serves people living with Autism in the Greater Capital District and their families. Our mission is to promote lifelong access and opportunities for people on the autism spectrum and their families so they can be fully participating, included members of their communities. We do this through advocacy, public awareness, education and compassionate support. This year will be our 9th annual Autism Walk and 5K Run. Members, volunteers, and all those effected by autism come together to help raise awareness and money for a great cause. The morning starts off with a 5K run around the pond and through Schenectady's Central Park. This is a great course and beautiful run in beginning of the fall season. After the race step into the pavilion for a snack and some mingling. Make sure you visit the awareness tables, which are full of information about services and programs available to the community we serve. Following the race join us at the Music Haven for opening ceremonies, music and our traditional walk around the water. This event is full of energy and you are guaranteed to meet a lot of great people. Come out and join in the festivities!
